How can I remove water stains from a lamp shade?

Someone, I won’t say who…(my husband :>| ) left my bedroom window open while he ran the sprinklers- my bedside lamp took the brunt of the damage. Any ideas how I can get the ugly water stain out of the fabric?

You could try wiping the shade with a solution of warm water and white vinegar, if that doesn’t work, the stains are permanent.

If the lamp shades are white. You can use a damp cloth and try a Clorox pen for removing stains.
Then use another damp cloth with only water and rub the entire shade to rinse and the stain should be gone. I’ve cleaned our lamp shades many times and they’re many years old, but they still look new.

Water stains are almost impossible to get out because shades are made of non-washable fabric. The one thing you can do is lightly dampen the entire shade which is basically making one big water stain but it won’t have the ugly markings anymore. Dry it with a hair dryer so it won’t have any drips. It’s worth a try before you have to go buy a new one.
