He is very happy with it. The lamp is a good size, not tiny and not too big, either. The amber shade shows its color when the lamp is turned on, and looks very nice. The shade is adjustable, so you can direct the light where needed most. It puts out substantial light, too, which is necessary for a desk lamp.
